あけましておめでとうございます、イラストレーターのyumi yamamotoです。
皆さま、お変わりありませんか？
新年1個目のイラストは、『サモトラケのニケ』をモチーフに描いた猫さんです。
ニケは勝利の女神なので、新年に幸先の良い題材かなと思い、描いてみました。
ルーブル美術館所蔵の実際の彫刻には首は無いのですが、猫さんのお顔を載せています。腕は無いまま。色については本物は乳白色なのですが、頭の中に色が溢れてしまったのでそれをそのまま着色しました。
太陽も添えてみたのですが、皆さんは太陽に色を付けるとしたら、何色で塗りますか？
昔、日本人は赤、西洋では黄色と聞いたことがあるのですが、幼い頃から絵本や映像などでさまざまな国の文化に触れている若い世代はそんなことは無いのかもしれませんね。
ニケは、ルーブル美術館の中で好きな作品の一つです。
階段の踊り場（？）に見上げるように設置されているこの彫刻は、ニケが船のへさきに降り立ったその瞬間が表現されています。初めて見た時には、ニケの存在感に圧倒されてしばらく立ち尽くしてしまいました。
それ以来、ルーブルに行くときは、必ず立ち寄るポイントにしています。
さて、今年最初の展示は２月の神戸。またお知らせしますね。

Hi there, I’m yumi yamamoto, a CAT illustrator.
How are you doing?
The first illustration of 2022 is a CAT drawn in the motif of "Niké of Samothrace".
Niké is the goddess of victory, so I thought it would be a good subject for New Year.
The actual sculpture in the Louvre does not have a head, but I put the cat's face on it. The arms are still missing. As for the color, the real one is milky white, but I had a flood of color in my head, so I just colored it in.
I drew the sun above the cat. What color would you paint on it?
I heard Japanese tend to color it red, but the Europeans does it yellow. I guess young Japanese people don't think the sun is red because they're grown up surrounded by the other cultures.
Niké is one of my favorite works in the Louvre.
The sculpture, which is placed on the landing of the stairs, represents the moment when Nike landed on the ship's deck. The first time I saw it, I was so overwhelmed by the presence of Nike that I stood there for a while.
Since then, it has become one of my must-stop points whenever I visit the Louvre.
What's your favorite in the museum?
Now, my first exhibition of the year will be at a venue in Kobe in February. I'll let you know about it later.
