あっという間に秋ですね。
今年の夏休みは特にどこにも出かけられず、ほとんど家の中で過ごしました。
コロナ禍以前には、夏の休暇に1週間ほど旅行して気分を切り替えていたのですが、今年はそれがなかったのでリフレッシュできていません。
強制的に休まざるをえない状況にいないと、だらだらと仕事やらなんやらをしてしまって、余計効率が悪くなってしまっています。
イラストの方も、挿絵などの納品が済み、次の展示まで少し時間があるのでお休みしていましたが、また再開しました。
最近は白や白っぽい色の使い方に関心があり、いろんな作品で注目してみたり、自分の作品で取り入れてみています。
数年前に有隣荘(倉敷、大原美術館)で見た、堂本尚郎の白にまつわる展示「堂本尚郎 - 白をのぞむ絵画」は圧巻でした。
白という色が、他の色とともに使われながらあれほど存在感を持ってそこにあるというのは、その時初めて体験しました。
そんなことを思い出しながら、しばらくの間は白を使った習作を描いていこうと思っています。
今日は、ココナッツを描いてみました。白は少なめですが、いつもの私の絵と比べると抑えめな色使いになりました。
今回は、下半分の緑から塗り始め、上半分の黄色っぽい色、そしてブルーの差し色というふうに塗っていきました。
円の外側に少し白を残すことで、緊張感のあるしまった感じに仕上がったのではないかと思います。どうでしょう?
画材は色鉛筆、大体15色位使いました。
余談ですが、、、
堂本尚郎の伯父の堂本印象も好きです。
私は、正統派の日本画より、彼のキュビズムの影響を受けた軽やかでポップなタッチの作品が好みです。
立命館大学衣笠キャンパス正門前の堂本印象美術館は、建物やお庭の装飾も印象が手掛けたそうです。遊び心があって楽しい場所なので、是非訪れてみてください。

The days are getting shorter.
It feels like autumn is ready.
Our family couldn't go anywhere during this summer vacation and spent most of our time at home. Before the covid, we traveled for about a week on summer vacation, but this year we didn't have it, so I haven't been able to refresh myself.
I just end up doing work or something like that, and I do know that this must be more inefficient. Recently, I'm interested in how to use white and whitish colors, so I'm paying attention to them in other artists ' works and try them in my own works. The exhibition "Domoto Hisao-Paintings Looking into White", which I saw at Yurinso in Kurashiki, Okayama several years ago, were incredible. It was the first time I experienced that the color white was used with other colors and had such a strong presence. With that in mind, I'm thinking of drawing a study using white for a while. Today, I drew a coconut. White is a little, but this is less colorful than my usual style. This time, I started with the green in the lower half, the yellowish color in the upper half, and then the blue color. By leaving a little white on the outside of the circle, I think the result is a tense feeling. How about? I used colored pencils, about 15 colors. By the way, I also like Domoto Hisao's uncle Domoto Insho. I prefer his works with light and pop touches influenced by cubism to his traditional Japanese paintings. Have you been to The Domoto Insho Museum in front of the main gate of Ritsumeikan University Kinugasa Campus? Domoto Insho designed and decorated the building and the garden. It's a playful and fun place, so don't miss it.
